Multi-modal Transportation

Many cargoes are not simply carried by solely truck or vessel or maybe train. It happens frequently that we need to send a cargo using combinations of methods. That’s because maybe some parts of the world do not have train stations or they are not connected to any port. Another reason is costs; sometimes using different transportation methods at the same time can results in very cheaper Transportation charges. The third reason can be Transit time! sometimes multi-modal transportation helps us decrease the Transportation Time which is very important.

Example of Multi-modal transportation

As an example, suppose that a factory aims to send its products from china to Afghanistan or Uzbekistan. They are not connected to any port but their neighboring country, Iran, is connected to Persian Gulf and can easily receive the cargo form china and Transit it to Afghanistan. so one of the best options is to send the goods in a container to one of Iran’s ports (Mainly Bandar Abbas) and a company such as Eram Tarabar as your partner here does the custom clearance at port for you and load your container on its trucks later on delivers it to Afghanistan or Uzbekistan. Surely, there are other ways too but usually traders use this option because it’s cheaper and faster.
